Looking to Transfer to Butler?

Thank you for choosing to continue your educational journey with us! To transfer to Butler from another college, follow the steps on this page.

Note: international transfer students follow a different process. You will not need to re-apply if you have attended or applied in the last two years.

Submit Application

The first step is applying. If you haven't yet, you'll need to apply before you can begin enrollment. Applying is free and simple and can be done online. If you have already applied in the past two years or taken a class at Butler that ended in the last two years you do not need to apply again.

Activate Account

Within a few days of applying, you’ll receive an email to activate your MyButlerCC Account with your username and password. If you can't find the email, you can request a password reset. If you already had a MyButlerCC account in the past, you can use the prior credentials to login or request a password reset if you forgot them.

MyButlerCC is your official student portal. A one-stop-shop for all things Butler. With MyButlerCC you can keep up to date on important Butler news, accept financial aid, enroll for classes and more.

Enrollment

Once you have successfully applied to Butler you can enroll by completing the following steps. You are considered officially enrolled once you have met with an advisor and picked classes.

    Request your official college transcript(s), and/or military credit be sent (from the sending institution) electronically to registrar@butlercc.edu or mailed to:

    Certain students (VA, athletes, and select Financial Aid recipients) are required to provide all official transcripts to the Registrar's Office. All official transcripts on file will be used in the determination of Financial Aid eligibility

    Unofficial transcripts may be used for enrollment/class placement

    Next, you can apply for financial aid and scholarships to help you pay for your degree.

    Placement is required for English and Math at Butler. This is determined by submitting your transcripts and taking a placement test if required. In addition to English and Math, testing is available for those looking to test out of other college courses and earn credit for what they already know as well as GED testing.

    When you're ready to pick your classes, our academic advisors will help you every step of the way. Your advisor will review your transcripts and test scores, discuss your degree plan, majors of interest, and help you schedule classes. Be sure to bring a copy of your ACT/SAT test scores and high school or previous college transcripts to your first meeting. Those in the military community looking to use benefits must inform their advisors. You can schedule an in-person or remote appointment, or come in during walk-in hours.
