
Butler’s animal science pathway, part of Butler’s award-winning Agriculture program, is designed to teach students the fundamentals of livestock nutrition, livestock health and reproduction, rangeland management, and cattle management. Like every major in the nationally-recognized ag department, animal science courses are taught by dedicated, talented faculty with industry experience.
The list of required courses, all of which are available online, includes Principals of Animal Science, Crop Science and Fundamentals of Livestock Nutrition. Elective courses include Beef Management and Introduction to Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
In addition to learning all about the animals themselves, students also discover the nuts and bolts of how to run an agricultural or livestock-related business, with classes in economics, finance and marketing.
