These are some examples of courses in our Construction Technology program.
Earn your Construction Technology Certificate in just 37 credit hours and 3 semesters (including a summer semester). This program is ideal for those looking to begin a construction career as an entry level craft professional or a general laborer seeking to increase their technical skills. We also have students simply considering a generalized program.
Already in the industry and want to earn your degree? This program is a partnership between select apprenticeship training organizations and Butler Community College. Apprentices can earn an Associate of Applied Science (15 credit hours-general education) while meeting the requirements needed to obtain their Journeyman’s card during their apprenticeship indenture.
We also offer a certificate in Masonry and Concrete Technology. This certificate program prepares students for masonry careers in the construction industry. Through theory, lectures and hands on projects, students will obtain needed skills to gain proficiency in brick, concrete, stonework, block, and form work.
"A fall 2020 national survey by the Association of General Contractors found that 55% of contractors in the Midwest and 59% in Kansas are looking for craft hands; from carpenters to operators and concrete workers."
Thank you to these industry partners for helping Butler bring this needed workforce training to the region: Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Kansas, Eby Construction, Hutton Construction, Simpson Construction, Wildcat Construction, and others.
