Listen to Their Needs

Serve as an advocate for the residents in your facility and communicate their needs and state of well-being to their loved ones. Meet in private groups with families and residents to create an individualized care plan.

Line of Defense for Residents and Staff

Here, you learn about safety protocols, nursing procedures and dietary guidelines to help you run your facility according to state standards. Communicate with your staff of CNAs, CMAs and nurses to stay up to date on your residents and your facility's needs. Implement procedures that ensure safe, productive and fair treatment for your staff and residents.

Manage Communities That Make the Golden Years Golden

Butler's certification program prepares you to take the licensing exam approved by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) for operators of assisted living, residential healthcare, home plus and adult day care facilities. 

Your training will cover the management of every aspect of the services provided in these facilities, including food preparation, socialization activities, the protection of residents' rights and dignity. You're also involved in the development and administration of service plans.

Prerequisites for Operator Training for Assisted Living (AH 225, 3 Credit Hours)

Option A: Possess a Baccalaureate degree in any area of study

Option B: Possess an Associate degree in a relevant field as determined by Health Occupations Credentialing

Option C: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with one-year relevant experience per Health Occupations Credentialing.
