Current construction apprentices can get twice as much done in the same amount of time thanks to a new partnership between Butler Community College and several apprenticeship training organizations from around the state.
This new Construction Trades degree program, because it is geared toward those currently working in the field, will involve coursework that deviates slightly from Butler’s standard requirements for similar degrees. This helps to honor the different educational backgrounds of students who come from different apprenticeship programs.
If you’re not currently working in the industry but are interested in learning it, our Construction Technology program is the place for you!
Butler's partnership with the Associated General Contractors of Kansas (AGC) allows construction industry apprentices to earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree while also working toward their AGC certificate. Once you receive your Journeyman’s card, you’ll be able to apply a maximum of 47 college credit hours toward your AAS.
No matter what your dream job is, you’ll gain the building blocks to earn your bachelor’s degree at a four-year university or start your career right away in positions like:
These are some examples of courses in our Construction Trades program.
Qualified students in eligible programs can earn their two-year degree and have their tuition, fees and books paid for.
