Our Public Safety pathway is a companion to our Criminal Justice degree. This curriculum puts you on the fast track to employment as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) while also setting you up for transfer to a bachelor's program in Criminal Justice. At Butler, we’ll prepare you for an impactful career as a first responder or law enforcement officer.
As an EMT, no shift is the same, which is why our hands-on program teaches you to think on your feet as a first responder while helping you lay the groundwork for a career in law enforcement.
Earning a public safety degree gives you the qualifications to navigate high stress situations of all kinds and identify dangerous encounters with training in critical thinking, intervention and investigative techniques.
Our experienced instructors give you an understanding of federal and state law through a dynamic curriculum. You’ll feel confident knowing how to assess situations and use prevention, intervention, treatment and aftercare strategies.
Gain the skills you need for criminal investigation, criminal law and criminology in our designated criminal justice and public safety building where you’ll interact with industry professionals from FEMA and other regional law enforcement groups through workshops hosted on campus.
