One of only four community college programs of its kind in Kansas, Butler’s philosophy classes immerse you in discourse, critical thinking and debate. You will learn how to understand ideas, develop critical responses and reflect upon the larger world of ideas, beliefs, institutions and values.
When you learn philosophy, you learn to pursue the questions presented by the world around you. No matter what field or academic goals you choose to pursue, a philosophy degree supplies you with the ability to think critically about problems and solutions—a skill many employers look for in today’s world of work.
Join Butler’s Philosophy Club for open and informed discussions focused on perspectives and idea sharing. Meet with like-minded students, instructors and community members to deepen your appreciation for the relevance of critical thinking as it relates to the issues of the day.
No matter what your dream job is, our instructors will give you the building blocks to earn your bachelor’s degree at a four-year university or start your career right away in positions like:
Author/Biographer
Customer Service
Public Speaker
