High School Students

Attend Butler While in High School

High school students can get a head start on college at Butler! Sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to enroll. Freshman may qualify with approval. You can even earn your associate degree by the time you graduate! You have options to take classes at your own high school for Butler credit, in-person at Butler or online. We offer many options to explore college and our team is here to help you choose the right fit. To get started, talk with your high school guidance counselor. If you are a guidance counselor or parent, we welcome you to explore what we offer and reach out to us with any questions.

H+

With our H+ program, you can take courses that transfer wherever you go. This can be a great option for those who want to dip their toes into taking college courses.

H+B+U

With our H+B+U program, you can take courses leaving you a full-time year at Butler to complete an associate degree after graduation.

Early College Academy

With our Early College Academy, you can attend Butler full-time as a junior and senior to earn your associate degree by high school graduation. You can explore our 2 year and tech start programs. Available at Rose Hill, Andover, El Dorado or online.

Who Should Apply?

To be eligible to take concurrent and dual-credit classes, you must meet the eligibility requirements.

    You must be classified as a sophomore, junior or senior according to the standards established at your high school.


    Freshmen classified as gifted can also be qualified with the submission of an Individual Education Plan to the Butler Registrar Office.

    You must meet the GPA and/or placement score requirements (either ACT, SAT or ACCUPLACER) to take classes. If you do not have ACT or SAT scores, you will need to take all three sections of the ACCUPLACER test at one of our testing centers. Your cumulative high school GPA may qualify you for courses requiring writing and reading scores. Bring your scores and/or high school transcript (with cumulative GPA) with you when you come to enroll. Note that Math scores are for College Algebra placement.

    High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a qualifying cumulative GPA  to enroll without placement scores. A transcript must be provided at the time of enrollment.

    How to Enroll

    Activate Your Account

    MyButlerCC is the official student portal. A one-stop-shop for all things Butler. With MyButlerCC you can keep up to date on important Butler news, accept financial aid, enroll for classes and more.

    After applying, you will receive your username and password via email for your new account. If you already applied in the past you can login to MyButlerCC with your prior credentials. If you forgot your username and password, you can do a password reset. If you need assistance with your account, please contact the service desk.

    Transferring

    We’re here to help you reach your goals beyond high school. Through the Kansas Board of Regents’ System-Wide Matrix, many courses transfer to any Kansas public university. Our advisors work closely with four-year schools to keep you on track, and our transfer agreements make starting at Butler a smart step toward your bachelor’s degree.
